Thank You Summer Interns!
As our summer 2021 internships come to a close, we want to highlight each of our talented interns that made an impact this summer. These amazing students helped further our mission, support major initiatives, and help set Art in Action up for a successful new school year. We will miss them dearly!

Art In Action Community Mural
On June 10-13th, Art in Action and Adelante Selby Spanish Immersion School’s fourth grade students vibrantly painted an uplifting community mural in Downtown Redwood City titled Connections, Community, and Hope. This mural alludes to youthful dreams and aspirations of a more peaceful and just future through the diverse silhouette children playing in harmony. Beyond the colorful surface, this art project embodies the bright futures that are possible when students have access to a comprehensive art curriculum.

Art in Action Lesson Highlight
With this Art In Action lesson, students will learn how to describe the balance of a painting and experiment with different painting techniques. By making abstract shapes, students can create unique watercolor compositions and are encouraged to limit colors to increase negative space.

The Time Is Now: #VOTEARTSANDMUSIC
Written by Libby Fitch As I sit here writing this piece, I reflect on my childhood and how the arts shaped who I am today. I was lucky enough to enroll in fine arts classes at Mission: Renaissance in middle school.

This month we’re thrilled to highlight one of our scholarship school recipients, Bozeman Online Charter School. Their elementary teacher, Ally Pitts, shares the impact art has on her students.
